1. Getting Started

Learn the basics of installing, using, and managing Rubik Variant Images.

Rubik Variant Images allows merchants to assign multiple images to each product variant and display only the relevant images on the product page. This streamlines the shopping experience, makes product pages cleaner, and reduces customer confusion.

To install Rubik Variant Images, visit the Shopify App Store and search for "Rubik Variant Images."

Click the "Install" button on the app page. You will be redirected to your Shopify admin panel — simply click "Install app" again to complete the process.

After installation, follow the on-screen instructions to configure the app and start assigning images to your variants.

No, the app is optimized for maximum performance. It uses Shopify metafields for storing image data and operates asynchronously to ensure that your store’s loading speed remains unaffected.
To change your subscription plan, go to your Shopify admin > Apps > Rubik Variant Images > Settings, and select your desired plan under the "Manage Plan" section.
You can easily disable the app by turning off the app widget from the Rubik Variant Images dashboard.

2. Using the App

Learn how to configure and manage images for product variants.

Rubik Variant Images fully supports multiple variant options.
In the configuration panel, assign images for each unique combination (for example, Red + Long Sleeve).
You can also watch the tutorial video provided within the app for a step-by-step guide.

Unassigned images are shown for all variants. If you want an image to be visible for multiple specific variants but not all, you can enable that feature on settings menu.

Yes, assigning videos and 3D models is possible!

You can simply drag and drop images within the app’s interface to rearrange their order.
The first image will be treated as the main image for the variant.

The app uses the first image in the variant’s assigned list as the main image.

If you want to set a different main image, just rearrange the image order by dragging and dropping it to the first position.

This setting controls whether unassigned images are displayed on your product pages.
If enabled, all unassigned images will be hidden from the product page but still remain visible in collection pages (if they are the first image).
It’s especially useful when you want to show a clean, variant-specific gallery without unrelated images cluttering the view.

Tip: Use this if you're using the first image as a thumbnail in collections but don’t want it on the product page unless it’s assigned to a variant.

3. Theme Integration

This is likely due to caching. Please allow 3–5 minutes for the changes to reflect. If the problem persists after waiting, clear your browser cache or contact support.

You can temporarily disable the app embed and check if the issue persists.
Alternatively, add ?stop_rubik=true to the product page URL to deactivate Rubik Variant Images for testing purposes. If disabling the app fixes the issue, please contact support, and we’ll investigate further.
