Shopify Variantenbilder für Google Shopping optimieren

Sie verkaufen eine Jacke in 6 Farben. In Ihrem Shop sehen die Produktfotos perfekt aus. Aber in Google Shopping? Da zeigt jede Farbvariante dasselbe Standardbild. Oder noch schlimmer: Die blaue Variante zeigt ein rotes Produktfoto.

Das ist kein Google-Fehler. Das Problem liegt in Ihrem Produkt-Feed. Shopify sendet für jede Variante das zugewiesene Bild an Google Merchant Center. Wenn keine Zuweisung existiert, nimmt Shopify das Hauptbild des Produkts. Für alle Varianten dasselbe Foto.

In diesem Beitrag zeige ich, wie Sie das Problem beheben und jede Variante mit dem richtigen Bild in Google Shopping erscheinen lassen.

Warum Google Shopping das falsche Bild zeigt

Jede Variante in Ihrem Shopify-Produkt-Feed hat ein Feld namens image_link. Dieses Feld bestimmt, welches Bild Google Shopping in den Ergebnissen anzeigt. Es gibt genau zwei Szenarien, in denen das schiefgeht.

Szenario 1: Kein Bild zugewiesen. Sie haben 40 Produktfotos hochgeladen, aber keiner Variante ein Bild direkt zugeordnet. Shopify sendet dann das Hauptbild (das erste in der Galerie) für alle Varianten. Blau, Rot, Grün, alles zeigt dasselbe Foto.

Szenario 2: Falsches Bild zugewiesen. Sie haben Bilder zugewiesen, aber beim Zuordnen die Varianten verwechselt. Oder Shopify hat beim Import die Reihenfolge durcheinander gebracht. Das Ergebnis: Die blaue Variante zeigt ein rotes Jacket in Google Shopping.

Beide Szenarien kosten Klicks. Ein Kunde sucht “blaue Winterjacke”, sieht in den Shopping-Ergebnissen ein rotes Produkt und klickt weiter. Ihre Anzeige wird ignoriert, obwohl Sie genau das richtige Produkt haben.

Wie Shopify-Feeds Bilder an Google senden

Die Google & YouTube Channel App (Shopifys offizielle Lösung) oder Feed-Apps wie DataFeedWatch und Feedonomics lesen Ihre Produktdaten aus und senden sie an Google Merchant Center. So läuft die Bildauswahl:

  1. Variante hat ein zugewiesenes Bild? Das wird als image_link gesendet.
  2. Kein Bild zugewiesen? Shopify nimmt das erste Bild der Produktgalerie (Featured Image).
  3. Zusätzliche Bilder? Manche Feed-Apps senden weitere Produktbilder als additional_image_link. Allerdings gibt es keine Zuordnung zu bestimmten Varianten. Google bekommt alle Bilder als einen Pool.

Das Kernproblem: Shopify erlaubt pro Variante nur ein Bild. Sie haben 5 Fotos der blauen Jacke, können aber nur eines der blauen Variante zuweisen. Die anderen 4 landen im allgemeinen Bildervorrat, ohne Variantenbezug.

Für Google Shopping ist das erste zugewiesene Bild entscheidend. Das erscheint in den Suchergebnissen. Wählen Sie also das stärkste Produktfoto: Frontalansicht, gute Beleuchtung, weißer oder neutraler Hintergrund.

Lösung 1: Jeder Variante das richtige Bild zuweisen

Der erste Schritt ist simpel: Gehen Sie in den Shopify-Admin, öffnen Sie das Produkt und weisen Sie jeder Variante ein passendes Bild zu. Blau bekommt ein blaues Foto, Rot ein rotes. Das dauert pro Produkt 2 Minuten.

Aber das löst nur die Hälfte des Problems. Shopify zeigt in der Galerie weiterhin alle 40 Bilder durcheinander. Der Kunde auf der Produktseite sieht trotzdem jede Farbe gleichzeitig.

Rubik Variant Images geht weiter. Die App erlaubt mehrere Bilder pro Variante. Beim Variantenwechsel filtert die Galerie automatisch und zeigt nur die zugehörigen Fotos. Das Bild, das Sie als erstes zuweisen, wird als Shopify-Variantenbild gespeichert und damit auch im Feed an Google gesendet.

Drei Wege, die Zuweisung zu beschleunigen:

  • Manuell per Drag-and-Drop. Bilder auf die passende Variante ziehen. Gut für einzelne Produkte.
  • KI Auto-Assign. Die App analysiert vier Datenpunkte (Produktname, Variantenname, Dateiname, Alt-Text) und ordnet Bilder automatisch den richtigen Varianten zu. Ein Klick pro Produkt.
  • Massenzuweisung. Bilder in der Shopify-Galerie nach Varianten sortieren. Die App erkennt die Bildreihenfolge und weist automatisch zu. Läuft im Hintergrund über Hunderte Produkte.

Die Daten werden in Shopify-Metafeldern gespeichert. Metafield-basiert, keine externen API-Aufrufe. Kein Einfluss auf die Ladegeschwindigkeit Ihres Shops.

Lösung 2: Separate Produkte pro Farbe

Es gibt eine Alternative, die für Google Shopping noch besser funktioniert: Jede Farbe als eigenes Produkt anlegen.

Ein separates Produkt “Blaue Winterjacke” hat nur blaue Fotos. Das erste Bild ist automatisch das richtige für den Feed. Es gibt keinen Zuordnungsfehler, weil es nur eine Farbe gibt. Zusätzlich bekommt jedes Produkt seinen eigenen Title-Tag, seine eigene Meta-Beschreibung und seine eigene URL. Google indexiert jede Farbe separat.

Der Nachteil: Kunden sehen isolierte Produktseiten ohne Verbindung zwischen den Farben. Sie müssen manuell nach anderen Farben suchen.

Combined Listings lösen genau das. Sie verbinden separate Produkte mit Farbfeldern. Der Kunde sieht Swatches auf der Produktseite und wechselt mit einem Klick zur anderen Farbe. Jedes Produkt bleibt ein eigenständiger Google-Shopping-Eintrag mit eigenem Bild. SEO und Shopping-Optimierung, ohne das Einkaufserlebnis zu verschlechtern.

Alt-Text für Google Shopping richtig nutzen

Alt-Text wird oft nur für SEO betrachtet. Für Google Shopping hat er aber eine zusätzliche Funktion: Er hilft Google zu verstehen, was auf dem Bild zu sehen ist. Ein guter Alt-Text beschreibt Farbe, Produkt und Perspektive.

Schlecht: IMG_4829.jpg oder Jacke

Gut: Blaue Winterjacke mit Kapuze, Vorderansicht

Verwenden Sie die Farbe im Alt-Text jedes Bildes. Wenn Google zwischen einem generischen “Jacke”-Bild und einem “Blaue Winterjacke, Vorderansicht”-Bild wählen muss, bevorzugt es das spezifischere. Das gilt besonders für die additional_image_link-Felder, die manche Feed-Apps mitsenden.

Alt-Text ist auch einer der vier Datenpunkte, die Rubiks KI Auto-Assign analysiert. Gut gepflegte Alt-Texte verbessern also gleichzeitig die KI-Zuordnung und Ihre Google-Shopping-Ergebnisse.

Google Shopping Bildanforderungen

Google lehnt Bilder ab, die bestimmte Anforderungen nicht erfüllen. Hier die wichtigsten Regeln für 2026:

  • Mindestgröße: 100 x 100 Pixel (Bekleidung: 250 x 250 Pixel).
  • Maximale Dateigröße: 16 MB.
  • Formate: JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, GIF (nicht animiert), WebP.
  • Kein Text auf dem Bild: Wasserzeichen, Preise, Logos oder Werbetexte auf Produktfotos führen zur Ablehnung.
  • Kein Platzhalter-Bild: Generische “Bild folgt”-Grafiken sind nicht erlaubt.
  • Produkt muss sichtbar sein: Das Produkt sollte mindestens 75 % des Bildbereichs ausfüllen.
  • Weißer Hintergrund empfohlen: Für die Hauptansicht. Lifestyle-Bilder funktionieren als zusätzliche Bilder.

Shopify komprimiert und konvertiert Bilder automatisch (WebP-Format). Die Mindestgrößen sollten Sie aber vor dem Upload prüfen. Bilder unter 250 Pixel Breite werden für Bekleidungsprodukte abgelehnt.

Warum zeigt Google Shopping das falsche Bild für meine Varianten?

Shopify sendet das zugewiesene Variantenbild als image_link an Google. Wenn Sie kein Bild zugewiesen haben, nimmt Shopify das Hauptbild des Produkts für alle Varianten. Weisen Sie jeder Variante das passende Produktfoto zu, damit Google das richtige Bild erhält.

Kann ich mehrere Bilder pro Variante an Google Shopping senden?

Google Shopping zeigt pro Variante ein Hauptbild (image_link). Zusätzliche Bilder können über additional_image_link gesendet werden, sind aber nicht variantenspezifisch zugeordnet. Für die beste Wirkung wählen Sie ein starkes Hauptfoto (Frontalansicht, weißer Hintergrund) als Variantenbild.

Sind separate Produkte besser für Google Shopping als Varianten?

In vielen Fällen ja. Jedes separate Produkt bekommt seinen eigenen Feed-Eintrag mit eigenem Bild, eigenem Titel und eigener Verfügbarkeit. Google zeigt das richtige Produktbild zur richtigen Suchanfrage. Mit Combined Listings verbinden Sie die Produkte trotzdem mit Farbfeldern.

Beeinflusst eine Variantenbilder-App meinen Google Shopping Feed?
