Which Shopify Apps Should You Install for Q4 2026?
Shopify apps for Q4 2026 have one thing in common with holiday stock: the order you set them up in matters as much as what you pick. A bulk image tool installed four days before Black Friday is a risk. A discount popup switched on in early October spends six weeks giving money to people who were going to buy anyway. Same apps. Wrong week.
So this list does two things. It covers ten Shopify apps that earn their keep in the last quarter of the year, from catalog prep through conversion to keeping December’s buyers. And for each one it says when to install it, counted back from Black Friday on Friday 27 November 2026.

The Q4 2026 calendar, counted back from Black Friday
Which Shopify apps for Q4 2026 go in first? The ones that touch the most data and take the longest to check. Anything that rewrites products goes early, anything shoppers see goes in the middle, and anything that hands out discounts goes last, close enough to the sale that it is not burning margin in October.
Black Friday is 27 November and Cyber Monday is 30 November, which puts a sensible code freeze on Friday 20 November. Counting back from there gives four windows:
| Window | Deadline | Why then | Apps in this window |
|---|---|---|---|
| Catalog | Fri 16 October | Bulk changes need two weeks of checking before anything is built on top of them | CS Export Product Images, CS Smart Bulk Image Upload |
| Pages | Fri 30 October | Three full weeks of real traffic to catch theme conflicts before the freeze | Rubik Variant Images, Stamp Show Variants Collection, Mini:Custom Fields Personalize |
| Offers and proof | Fri 13 November | Close to the sale, so offers do not discount October’s full-price buyers | Giveaway Ninja (can start late October), Growth Suite, SSM Sold Counter Social Proof, PieceUp |
| Retention | Start now | App store review takes days, and the payoff is December and January repeat orders | Shopney |
If you want the full week-by-week version (theme freeze, inventory counts, email schedule and the rest), Craftshift keeps a Shopify peak season calendar that this post deliberately does not repeat.

1. Growth Suite: a personal deadline instead of a sitewide discount

Lots of visitors like what they see, think “I’ll buy it later”, and never come back. A sitewide discount answers that by giving everyone money off, including the people who were already reaching for their card.
Growth Suite, from Growth Hacking Studio, takes the opposite approach. It watches how each visitor shops, picks out the ones still deciding, and gives them a unique, single-use discount code with a countdown timer. The code applies automatically in the cart and really does expire when the timer runs out, along with the discount. You can exclude products or collections to protect margins, A/B test discount rates and offer durations, and read funnel and product reports on what the offers did. The same app also covers volume and quantity breaks, bundles, free gifts and post-purchase offers.
Why it fits Q4: ad costs climb through November, so every visitor who leaves cost more to bring in than they did in September. A targeted deadline for the hesitant ones is a better use of margin than a blanket code. Growth Hacking Studio has also written about what to build before Black Friday so you are not discounting in a panic, which pairs well with this list.
When to install: early November, live by 13 November.
On the listing: 4.9 stars from 54 reviews, Built for Shopify, live since November 2020. Plans are priced by monthly unique visitors: Small $139 (10,000), Medium $299 (25,000), Large $499 (50,000) and X-Large $899 (100,000), with a 14-day trial on Small and Medium and 28 days on Large and X-Large. The listing shows bundles, free gifts, volume breaks and post-purchase funnels from the Medium plan up, so check the plan page on growthsuite.net for the current breakdown. Growth Hacking Studio says the app is used by 300+ stores in 40+ countries.

2. Rubik Variant Images: the gallery shows the colour they picked

Shopify lets you attach one image to each variant. Everything else in the gallery belongs to the product as a whole, so a shopper who taps Blue on a hoodie sold in eight colours still scrolls past red, green, black and the rest. In Q4 that shopper is often buying a gift, on a phone, in a hurry, and “is this the right colour?” is the last question they want to answer by squinting at thumbnails. It is also behind a good share of orders placed in the wrong colour.
Rubik Variant Images lets you assign several images to each variant, so the gallery updates the moment a shopper picks an option and shows only that variant’s photos. There are three ways to set it up. Manual assignment for a handful of products. AI auto-assign, one product at a time, which reads the product name, variant name, image filename and alt text to propose the match. And bulk assign, which works across the whole catalog in the background by reading the order of images in the Shopify gallery (no AI, no filename matching), useful when your galleries are already sorted colour by colour.
It also adds colour and image swatches to the product page and, if you switch it on, to product cards on collection and search pages. It works with 350+ themes without code changes and loads from Shopify metafields with no external API calls. Not sure about a theme? The free theme compatibility checker answers that in one search.
Why it fits Q4: holiday traffic is mostly mobile and mostly in a hurry, and a gallery that shows only the chosen colour removes one more reason to hesitate. The Black Friday variant image checklist covers the sale-specific details, such as sold out colours.
When to install: by 30 October. Assigning images across a large catalog takes days, not minutes, and you want it running on normal traffic for a few weeks before the freeze.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 488 reviews, Built for Shopify, live since October 2024. Pricing is flat rather than tied to your Shopify plan: free for 1 product, $25 for 100, $50 for 1,000 and $75 unlimited, with a 7-day trial on paid plans. One limit worth knowing: it works within a single product, so colours that live as separate Shopify products need a grouping app instead, which rubikify covers in its guide to Black Friday collection pages for grouped products.

3. Stamp Show Variants Collection: every colour gets its own card

A Shopify collection page shows one card per product. A shirt sold in eight colours appears once, usually in one colour, and the shopper has to open it to find out the other seven exist. Many never do.
Stamp Show Variants Collection, built by Sezerium, splits products into variant cards on collection and search pages: one card per colour, size or combination, each with its own image, title and price, inside your theme’s own card design. Setup takes the app embed and a choice of collections, no code. For finer control you can hide sold out variants or variants without images, show price ranges, filter variants and set a manual order per collection. On top of that come colour, image and button swatches on product cards, Smart sort (sold out items move down, new arrivals move up), Best Sellers, Featured Collection, Related Products and Promo Card sections, infinite scroll and add to cart on cards.
Why it fits Q4: a promo card inside the grid is a native place to announce the sale, and sorting sold out items down keeps the first rows of a collection from emptying out over the long weekend. Stamp also pairs naturally with a product page app, a combination covered in showing variants as separate products with Stamp.
When to install: by 30 October, so the new grid has a few weeks of real browsing behind it.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 179 reviews, Built for Shopify, live since January 2025, and listed as working with PageFly, GemPages, EComposer and Instant. The free Build plan lets you set up and preview every feature before going live. Standard is $12 a month ($108 a year) and Advanced $24 ($216 a year), each with a 3-day trial; collection swatches, Smart sort and the extra sections are on Advanced.

4. PieceUp: a discount shoppers earn

Most discount popups hand 10% to anyone who scrolls past. PieceUp asks for thirty seconds instead.
Built by 34devs, it turns the popup into a jigsaw puzzle made from a picture of what you sell. The shopper drags a few pieces into place, picks a prize, and leaves with a real, single-use Shopify discount code, created only at the moment they win, so unclaimed prizes never clutter your Discounts admin. You choose the image, 2×2 up to 4×4 pieces, three difficulty levels and an optional countdown. Prizes can be a percentage off, an amount off, free shipping or a “try again” that costs you nothing, limited to certain products if you like. You decide when it appears (a button, a timed popup or both), where, and how often a shopper can play. Orders placed with a PieceUp code are matched back to the puzzle that issued it, so the report shows revenue rather than clicks, and Premium runs two puzzles against each other so you can keep the winner.
Why it fits Q4: in a week when every store runs the same 20%-off banner, a discount that has to be earned stands out, and the person holding the code has just spent thirty seconds looking at your product. Kinda fun, too, which is not nothing in November.
When to install: in November, live by 13 November, so it is not handing out codes through October.
On the listing: PieceUp launched on 1 September 2026 and has no reviews yet, so early users get the attention of a developer who is still shaping the product. Free covers 100 rewards a month and one puzzle, with a PieceUp badge. Pro at $9.99 raises that to 1,000 rewards and unlimited puzzles, removes the badge and adds revenue analytics. Premium at $19.99 is unlimited, with A/B testing and priority support; both paid plans have a 7-day trial.

5. Mini:Custom Fields Personalize: gifts with a name on them

December is personalization month. Engraved jewellery, a name on a stocking, a printed photo, a gift note. Shopify product pages do not come with a way to collect any of it, so stores end up chasing the details over email after the order lands, which is precisely the week nobody has time to chase anything.
Mini:Custom Fields Personalize, by Minimate Apps, adds the inputs directly to the product page: text boxes, dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes, date pickers, number inputs, file uploads, image and colour swatches, and font selectors. Fields can appear conditionally (show the engraving box only after “Add engraving” is ticked) or only for certain variants. Paid extras like gift wrap or rush delivery go into the cart as their own line item, and every answer is saved with the order, so the team knows exactly what to make. Setup needs no code, and fields can be translated for stores that sell in more than one language.
Why it fits Q4: personalized gifts are a seasonal spike, and a delivery date picker whose help text names your real shipping cutoff does more than a cutoff banner shoppers scroll past.
When to install: by 30 October, so the fields are in place before gift buying starts in earnest.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 143 reviews, Built for Shopify, live since September 2023. Free allows one custom field (text box, checkbox, radio or dropdown). Basic at $5.99 a month unlocks unlimited fields, the date picker, conditional logic and translation. Premium at $9.99 adds file and image uploads up to 200 MB, image swatch fields, add-on charges and per-variant visibility; both paid plans have a 7-day trial.
Links: Mini:Custom Fields Personalize on the Shopify App Store and the developer’s site, minimateapps.com.
6. CS Smart Bulk Image Upload: holiday photography in one run

Uploading images one product at a time is fine for ten products. For a seasonal reshoot across three hundred, it is a lost week.
CS Smart Bulk Image Upload connects to Google Drive or Dropbox and matches each image to a product or variant by SKU, barcode, product title, a metafield value or variant ID. Then it stops and shows a full preview: every matched and unmatched file, its position in the gallery, and the alt text it will write. Nothing is written to the store until you approve it, which matters, because the worst bulk upload is not a slow one, it is a fast one that put the wrong photos on the wrong products. You can rerun the matching as often as you like while you fix file names, export unmatched images as a CSV, add new images or replace existing ones, and the upload itself runs in the background, keeping multiple photos in the right order.
Why it fits Q4: seasonal photography, gift sets and new colourways all land in October. Naming the files consistently first helps the matcher, and the free image filename generator builds names in a pattern it reads.
When to install: by 16 October, right after a backup with app number 7. The bulk upload walkthrough shows the steps.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 111 reviews, Built for Shopify, live since December 2020. Free covers 25 images. Paid plans are unlimited and priced by Shopify plan: $69 on Basic and Grow, $99 on Advanced and $149 on Plus.
Links: CS Smart Bulk Image Upload on the Shopify App Store and the developer’s site, craftshift.com.
7. CS Export Product Images: the backup nobody makes

Here is an opinion most Q4 lists skip: the first thing to run this quarter is a backup. Before a single holiday image gets uploaded, replaced or reordered, keep a copy of what is there now. Why does almost nobody do this? Because Shopify makes it tedious, one file at a time.
CS Export Product Images downloads product images, variant images, videos and 3D models as a single ZIP, plus the files under Content > Files, including PDFs and media used by metaobjects. You filter by product status, vendor, collection or creation date, export only main images if that is all you need, preview every file before the export starts, choose a folder structure, and keep original file names or rename them (by SKU or barcode, for example). Duplicate names are handled automatically. Exports run in the background, an email arrives when the file is ready, and the download link stays available for 7 days.
Why it fits Q4: besides the backup, the same export feeds marketplaces, wholesale catalogs, print materials and the designer making your holiday ads. The bulk export guide walks through it.
When to install: first of all ten, before any bulk change, and by 16 October at the latest.
On the listing: 4.7 stars from 31 reviews, Built for Shopify, live since March 2024. Free covers 100 images, Starter is $29 for 1,000, Advanced $69 for 10,000 and Premium $99 unlimited.

8. SSM Sold Counter Social Proof: real numbers, not fake popups

A small rant first. The “someone in your city just bought this!” popup is one of the worst habits in ecommerce. Some of them are simulated, shoppers have learned to suspect all of them, and a fake signal is worse than none because it makes the real ones look fake too.
SSM Sold Counter Social Proof, by Mehmet Tekin, is built on the opposite rule: every figure comes from your real Shopify orders and live traffic, with no manual counts and no simulated sales. It shows sold counters like “23 sold today” or “140 sold this month”, best-seller badges ranked within each collection, and live activity such as “8 carted in the last hour”, “12 in cart now” and current visitor counts. Labels can sit on product images, in collection grids, or as an inline Smart label beside Add to cart, using your store’s fonts and style presets. A self-learning engine picks which proof to show on each product, so you set it up once for the whole store.
Why it fits Q4: sales counts are at their highest of the year, so real-order proof has the most to say exactly when traffic peaks. More on why social proof works best on the product image on craftshift.com, and the developer’s own take on choosing a social proof app in 2026.
When to install: early November, so the counters have real October and November orders to show.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 1 review, live since October 2024, so the review sample is still small; the free plan is the easy way to judge it. Free includes every feature up to 10,000 monthly visitors. Paid tiers are $19 (20,000 visitors), $45 (50,000) and $85 (100,000), each with a 14-day trial.

9. Giveaway Ninja: turn the run-up into a bigger list

Giveaway Ninja, by CrazyRocket, runs giveaways and sweepstakes where orders, referrals and social actions all earn entries, so a campaign can drive revenue rather than just collect emails. You can give extra entries per dollar spent, target specific products or variants, stack bonus rules for bundles and spend thresholds, and use date-range multipliers to reward early buyers on a launch or boost the final hours of the campaign. Refer-a-friend, social actions and photo submissions bring in new subscribers and give shoppers a way to enter without buying.
The giveaway can live on a branded landing page, a popup or an embedded widget in your store. Entries and purchase activity sync to Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend and Zapier, and when it ends, winners are drawn at random with the built-in live draw.
Why it fits Q4: a giveaway running from late October hands you a larger, warmer list on Black Friday morning, and a seasonal sweepstakes with an extra boost in the final hours gives shoppers a reason to buy now rather than next week. CrazyRocket has a whole post of Black Friday giveaway ideas for 2026 if you want campaign formats. (Sweepstakes rules differ by country, so check the local requirements before launch, whichever tool you use.)
When to install: late October. This is the one offer-side app that should start before November, because list growth needs time.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 89 reviews, live since April 2020. Free covers up to 50 monthly users with unlimited orders and every entry action. Starter is $49 (500 monthly users), Pro $99 (2,000) and Premium $199 (5,000, adding an AOV booster and white-glove onboarding), with a 7-day trial and 20% off on yearly billing.

10. Shopney: a channel you do not rent

Black Friday buys customers at the most expensive ad prices of the year. What happens to them in December and January decides whether that was a good trade.
Shopney is an AI-native mobile app builder for Shopify and Shopify Plus that turns a store into fully branded native iOS and Android apps, no code required. Once a buyer installs your app, you can reach them with unlimited push notifications, abandoned-cart recovery, back in stock alerts, in-app campaigns and app-exclusive offers, instead of paying an ad platform to show them your products again. It integrates with loyalty, subscription, review and marketing apps many stores already run, including Klaviyo, Judge.me, Yotpo, Smile.io, LoyaltyLion, Recharge, Rebuy and Nosto, and its team supports you from building the app through store submission and launch.
Why it fits Q4: the holiday rush is when the most new customers arrive in the shortest time, and an app gives you a direct, owned line to them afterwards. Shopney’s 30-day BFCM playbook lays out the run-up from the mobile side.
When to install: start now. A mobile app has to pass Apple and Google review before it is live. Shopney says most merchants go live in as little as five days from sign-up to approval, so starting in October puts the app in the stores before your holiday buyers arrive, ready for December gifting and January repeat orders. Shopney also says it takes zero commission on sales and is trusted by 3,000+ Shopify brands.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 770 reviews, live since July 2019, the largest review sample in this list. Silver is $149 a month (unlimited push notifications, back in stock alerts, in-app chat and campaigns), Gold $299 (abandoned cart notifications plus review, multi-language and search integrations), Platinum $599 (segmented and AI push, loyalty and subscription integrations, Klaviyo, Rebuy and Nosto) and Enterprise $1,299, all with a 30-day trial.

Bonus: Viking Product Image Watermark, for the photos everyone else wants

One more, outside the ten, because it fits the season too well to leave out. Every store reshoots for the holidays, and good holiday photography is exactly what gets lifted for dropshipping listings and copycat ads in November. Why pay for a shoot and then hand it out for free?
Viking Product Image Watermark, built by Aegis, puts a logo or text watermark on your product photos, in bulk across the catalog or on just the images you choose, and can mark new uploads automatically. It also adds badges from a sticker gallery (Sale, New, Bestseller and an AI Generated label for AI-made product shots), blocks right-click and image saving on the storefront, and keeps your originals so you can restore any photo in one click with no quality loss.
Why it fits Q4: a Sale badge on the photo for the holiday weeks, then the clean originals back in one click once the sale ends. Two honest notes. Right-click blocking deters casual copying, not screenshots, so the watermark is the layer that actually travels with a stolen image. And keep the main image you send to Google Merchant Center clean, because Google does not allow watermarks on product images in Shopping; watermark the secondary shots instead. Viking’s own guide to watermark design that does not hurt the product photo covers placement and opacity, and craftshift.com has more on protecting product photography from dropshippers.
When to install: by 16 October, alongside the catalog tools, so the new holiday photos are protected from the day they go live.
On the listing: 5.0 stars from 10 reviews, Built for Shopify, launched in May 2026. Free covers 1 watermark design and 100 images, with the sticker gallery, right-click blocking and one-click restore included. Starter is $7.99 a month (5 designs, 1,000 images, bulk apply and auto watermark), Growth $14.99 (20 designs, 5,000 images) and Pro $29.99 (50 designs, 20,000 images), with about 17% off on yearly billing.

The same ten apps, as the other developers see them
Every developer in this round wrote their own version, and they are worth reading side by side, because each one approaches the season from its own corner of a Shopify store:
- 10 Shopify apps to help you sell more and save time in Q4 2026, from the Growth Suite team
- Best Shopify apps for Q4 2026: 10 apps for Black Friday, from 34devs, the makers of PieceUp (also in Turkish)
- 10 Shopify apps for Q4 2026: get your store ready for the holiday season, from Sezerium, the makers of Stamp
- Shopify apps for Black Friday: 10 proven picks, from Minimate Apps
More versions are on the way from the rest of the group, and this list will be updated as they go live.
Which apps does your store actually need?
Not all ten. Nobody needs all ten. Pick by the shape of the store:
- Products sold in many colours? Stamp for the collection grid and Rubik Variant Images for the product page cover the path from grid to gallery.
- New seasonal photography to load? CS Export Product Images first, then CS Smart Bulk Image Upload. In that order, every time.
- Gifts, engraving, made to order? Mini:Custom Fields, with the date picker set to your shipping cutoff.
- Plenty of traffic, but buyers who hesitate? Growth Suite for personal offers, SSM Sold Counter for proof drawn from real orders.
- Small email list going into the sale? Giveaway Ninja from late October, PieceUp closer to the day.
- Expensive holiday photography? Viking Product Image Watermark, before the new shots go live.
- Products people buy again and again? Shopney, started now.
And whatever you add, keep the discounts deliberate. If you need a batch of unique codes outside an app, Craftshift’s free discount code generator makes them in seconds, and the variant image checker shows how many of a product’s photos are not tied to any variant before the traffic arrives.
What not to install after 20 November
Anything. Seriously.
From the freeze until the Tuesday after Cyber Monday, the safest store is the one that looks exactly like it did on 19 November. No new storefront apps, no theme updates, no bulk edits to products. If an app you installed earlier misbehaves, switch it off rather than reconfiguring it live. And if you are reading this on 21 November with nothing set up? Run the sale on what you have, keep this list, and install on 1 December, which is also when a mobile app channel and a freshly grown email list start earning their keep. Craftshift’s guide to the Black Friday code freeze has the full list of what to lock and when.
FAQ
Which Shopify apps should I install for Q4 2026?
Install in order of lead time. Catalog tools first: CS Export Product Images, then CS Smart Bulk Image Upload, by mid October. Page apps such as Rubik Variant Images, Stamp Show Variants Collection and Mini:Custom Fields Personalize by 30 October. Offer and proof apps such as Growth Suite, SSM Sold Counter Social Proof, PieceUp and Giveaway Ninja by 13 November. Start a mobile app with Shopney now.
When is Black Friday 2026, and when should a store stop changing?
Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday is 30 November. A sensible code freeze starts Friday 20 November and lifts on 1 December. Install storefront apps by 30 October so they meet three weeks of real traffic first, and keep discount tools for early November so they do not discount full-price October buyers.
Is it too late to install Shopify apps in November?
Not before 13 November, as long as each app is tested on mobile with real traffic before the freeze. After 20 November it is too late for anything that changes the storefront. Keep the list and install on 1 December, when retention tools like a mobile app or a growing email list start paying off anyway.
Which of these Shopify apps have a free plan?
Eight of the ten: Rubik Variant Images, Stamp Show Variants Collection (a free build plan to set up and preview), PieceUp, Mini:Custom Fields Personalize, CS Smart Bulk Image Upload, CS Export Product Images, SSM Sold Counter Social Proof and Giveaway Ninja all list a free plan. Growth Suite offers a 14-day free trial and Shopney a 30-day free trial instead.
Are discount popups and countdown timers worth it during Black Friday?
Targeted ones are. A sitewide popup gives money to every visitor, including those who would buy at full price. Tools that choose who gets an offer, like Growth Suite’s personal codes for hesitating visitors or PieceUp’s puzzle that shoppers earn, spend the discount where it changes a decision. Keep timers and counts real: fake urgency and simulated sales damage trust.
How do I show every colour of a product during the holiday sale?
Handle it on both pages. On the collection page, Stamp Show Variants Collection gives each variant its own card so shoppers see every colour you sell. On the product page, Rubik Variant Images shows only the photos of the colour selected, so the gallery matches the choice. Stores with large colour ranges often run both.
What should a small store on a tight budget install first?
Start with the free plans. Back up images with CS Export Product Images (100 images free), set up your bestseller in Rubik Variant Images (1 product free), add one personalization field with Mini:Custom Fields Personalize, show real sold counts with SSM Sold Counter Social Proof (free up to 10,000 monthly visitors), and grow the list with Giveaway Ninja (free up to 50 monthly users). Upgrade only where a limit actually bites.
